Hello, I’m Juli!
My journey in spiritual direction began
during a challenging season…
In that time, my typical engagement with God – through Bible study, prayer, and serving – began to feel dry and disconnected. Then I discovered spiritual direction. Through this ministry of presence, I experienced God in ways that were deepening and expansive, ways that stretched into my ordinary, everyday, and challenging moments, ways that surprised me. And ever so slowly, this brought freedom and healing.
While that personal journey (always) continues, my desire is to offer safe spaces for others to experience a deeper and more expansive knowing of God, and to discover for themselves whatever gifts God might have for them there. I offer this through spiritual direction, accompaniment in the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises, guided group contemplative practices, and the stories in my book and on this website. My hope is to make accessible a variety of ways to experience more life and friendship with God. And God always has more for us.
I am a trained spiritual director and life-long learner in spiritual formation and contemplative practices. I completed my Spiritual Direction training in 2017 at Richmont Graduate University. In 2021 I completed the Spiritual Formation Program at the Renovare Institute, and in 2023 completed Ignatian Spiritual Exercises Training through the Jesuit Institute South Africa. I am a member of The Agape Center for Spiritual Formation, and a contributor to the contemplative community of JourneyMates.
My background, experience, and education lie in the Christian tradition. I believe in a Trinity of love – God above, God beside, and God within; that growing in God-awareness invites growing in self-awareness, the fruits of which look like freedom, healing, and love; and that this journey takes a lifetime. I offer my companionship on this journey to people of faith and doubt.
I am married with four young adult sons and a beautiful daughter-in-law. My favorite things include hiking in the woods, walks with friends and dogs, yoga, Peloton rides, camping, reading good books, working jigsaw puzzles, feeding birds, and attending sporting events with my family.
